So much so, Sciences Int., a private consulting company in northern Virginia funded by more than 50 industrial companies, has been responsible for conducting much of the analysis regarding the harm chemicals can do to human reproductive health that was meant to be overseen by an internal agency within the National Institutes of Health, the Center for the Evaluation of Risks to Human Reproduction, established nearly a decade ago.
Even though one federal official claimed otherwise, Sciences Int. has played a significant investigative role at the center and is involved in management there. No wonder, considering the company has a $5 million contract...
