The Lion Sleeps Tonight

I've always been very interested in the art form of animation;

I even created my own video animation about the fatally flawed conventional medical model, called "The Town of Allopath."

If you haven't seen that video yet, you will certainly want to view it.

But if you're in the mood for something a bit lighter, without an underlying message, this cute video set to the famous song "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" might be just the thing instead.

Cute video! This song really takes me back to 4th grade when we had early morning before-school 'sockhops' in the gym on Fridays - just bring your own roller skates and 45's.
The songs I remember are this one, 'Killing Me Softly', 'The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia', 'Angie', plus anything by the Osmonds, Partridge Family or Jackson 5.     ^_^

We just made our own video -- a eulogy to the mega-dairy here in Central California that lost its certification.  The song was stuck in my head for a week and my five year old was even singing it.  From YouTube:  A Eulogy Written on a Country Pasture:  Rest in Peace Vander Eyk Organic Dairy.

This is one of the greatest pop songs of all time, and I have always felt like dancing whenever I hear it.  Now I have danced to it by proxy, and it was tons of fun.  The dog is pretty good as we old professional dancers go, but his rhythm is sometimes just a tad off.  However, it can be said without fear of contradiction that he dances better than my dog, Pinky, and I'm sure with practice he'll improve.  I gave him lots of practice tonight, and I thought I observed his timing get a little sharper.  Buuuuut......maybe not.

It's a bit spooky that the news today mentions the death of the artist who sang this song- TODAY!  Here's the link if you're interested.

As an engineer I appreciate the logic of actually solving the problem, rather than continuing to investigate system "side shows".

I am attempting to address the mental health industry issues by helping functioning folks make more of their lives. Come see my idea at:

Ever since Big Pharma coopted the med school curricula the approach to illness has been to mask symptoms, not cure the cause.  The example I like is the patient constantly hitting his own knee with a little hammer.  In mounting pain, he goes to his doctor, who examines him thoroughly, then prescribes a painkiller so the patient won't feel any more pain, when what he ought to do is take the hammer out of the patient's hand and say, "Stop doing that!"

For all intents & purposes, MD stands for, "Me, Doctor."
