This is Dr. Mercola with an important video update for you, and an apology,
because, on Tuesday of this week, many of you were unable to access the website
for nearly half of the morning. This is because we were under attack. There
was a very sophisticated operation that just flooded our website with requests,
somewhere on the order of a thousand requests per second, which is upwards of
50 megabytes a second of traffic. This just flooded our firewall. Fortunately,
we have very sophisticated I.T. support, and they were able to resolve this
within a matter of four to five hours; then things were back to normal.
But in case you had difficulty accessing our site on Tuesday, the day we ran
the most popular article, I'm posting the article again right on this page so
that you have a chance to read it. It was really one of the most important pieces
I've written, and I wanted to make sure you were able to find it.
I don't know if those responsible for the website trouble knew that I was writing
this article or not, or if they planned it, but nevertheless, they tried to
shut us down yet again. Apparently, this happens about at least once every three
months or so; they flood our website with all these requests.
Now, no one has ever been able to penetrate our system and hack our actual
software. The only thing they've been able to do is essentially just flood our
website with all these other requests. Basically, if they're getting their requests
in, then you can't get yours in.
Rest assured that if you've ever bought anything from our store on the site,
there's never any need to worry, because all that information is safe and secure.
But what is happening is that these organizations are trying to shut us up,
so that you won't get this vital information, and I believe it's the drug companies
who are behind this.
You see, our mission is to inform, to educate, to give you the tools, the resources,
the practical, inexpensive options and solutions that you need so that you can
take control of your health, and that's going to cause damage by hurting the
bottom-line profits of many of these drug companies. As of yet, I don't have
proof of this because it's just very difficult to do. But I'm in the process
of seriously considering funding an investigation, so we can get to the bottom
of this and see who is responsible for this effort to limit your access to this
information.
So, again, I apologize. We're doing the best we can, and we are actually upgrading
our firewalls to make it that much more difficult for this to happen again.
But I think, in some ways, this is a good thing. Remember, I'm a big fan of
W. Clement Stone, who was a student of Napoleon Hill. Stone was fond of calling
himself an "inverse paranoid". That is, every time something bad happened
to him, he firmly believed that some good would come of it. I believe that the
good that can come out of this incident is that, we are winning. We are becoming
such a profound and effective influence in educating you and everyone out there
about options and alternatives, that they're actually after us now. So, I think
that's great.
Our goal is to continue to educate you so that you will have those options
to make a choice. Because ultimately, you want options to expensive drugs and
potentially-dangerous surgeries so that you can start to take control of your
health.
