Health Freedom

This is Dr. Mercola. Now, we're coming up on the Fourth of July here in America, the day we celebrate freedom. Yes, freedom. Such a precious commodity which a large percentage of the world's population does not enjoy. I am so grateful to our patriotic forefathers, who had the courage to sacrifice their lives so we could have freedom and reap the benefits it has provided us in America for over 200 years.

However, unfortunately, the path that many countries take over a few hundred years, is that freedom becomes perverted and actually progresses into a tyranny, with a few groups (in America's case, it's primarily a number of large, multi-national corporations) who seize control of the government, seeking to strip freedom away from the people, and to deceive and defraud the people in order to benefit their own bottom lines.

Now, with respect to health, this is clear. If you've been on this site for a while, you know about the information we provide for you. The challenge of being on the site of course, is that there is so much information. I started this site over ten years ago, and there are now well in excess of 100,000 pages. So, it becomes a practical challenge to fully access the information in a comprehensive manner. I'm aware of this, and this is why I've written a new book called, Take Control of Your Health. In this book, I seek to summarize some of the over 100,000 website pages into simple, concise, practical guidelines that you can use.

There are over 350 pages of information in this book. This book contains no recipes, though; only pure informational content, and it is organized in such a way as to give you a simple, practical guide, providing useful information in a user-friendly format. Because it is such a practical guide, it is clearly the best book I've written.

Although I spent the last six months writing it, it really took the last 30 years of my clinical experience to write it. Clearly, without this journey in health, my understanding of what the whole system is about could not have been properly conveyed.

I'm just so excited to offer it to you because it's an amazing resource. I want you to please read the material on this page to get a better idea of what the book is all about. My primary purpose for this book is to seek to help you regain your health freedom, so that you can start to take control of your health.

Let's unite and get behind Ron Paul for president!  This would be a monumental shift towards securing our quickly diminishing liberties.

Congressman Ron Paul is the leading advocate for freedom in our nation’s capital. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Dr. Paul tirelessly works for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. He is known among his congressional colleagues and his constituents for his consistent voting record. Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution.

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

Happy Independence Day!

This is a celebration of freedom form a tyrannical government! We won by means of good ol’ American Revolution! We must do the same again with the Pharmaceutical Profit Controlled FDA! (Another form of tyrannical government) We will win once again because we are Americans

A nation will rise to greatness--that great nation will flourish--and that great nation will fall.

It has happend throughout history, and it will happen throughout the future. It is easy to foresee the future, all you have to do is look at what happened yesterday, and you can see what will happen tomorow.

Will there be enough people like Mercolains and other caring folks that want to be free and live healthy to change the suppressive ways of the leaders and those who literly don't give a hoot in hell about the future or the freedom of this country and the people in it?

Freedom, and our constitution, as George Bush put it--ain't nothing but a goddam piece of paper! (FSTV)  www.freedomtofascism.com

Found out yesterday that in 1977 Donald Rumsfeld was president of (searle) the makers of aspertame. He ignored the health warnings to take advantage of opportunity and prosperity. We all know the connection of him and tamiflu. In 1981 the FDA strongly opposed aspertame, and had no intentions of allowing them to market it. But then the new president took office, Ronald Regan, in 1981, and one of the first things he did was to strip the FDA commissioners power--and you know the rest of the story. (FSTV)

As long as crud like this is allowed, we will not have any freedom left. Through political pressure, corruption, favortisim, opportunity to financially prosper at the cost of human suffering, you name it. If the people does not speak up, then they will never change their oppressive ways, and that is a fact.

Please excuse me a bunch for my choice of words, but I had to state it like it was told to get in the complete understanding of what was said by our president who took an oath twice to uphold the constitution of this great country of ours.

I'm sure you have a terrific book Dr. M. Will check into it. Keep up the good work. Sorry if offended anyone.

Your President Bush just gave Scooter Libby a get out of jail card.  Puts a whole new spin on freedom, doesn't it?

Just remember that there are always at least two sides to every story.  We may see people in high governmental positions making decisions we don't agree with.  We have to remember that they have advisors and those people may be the ones supplying the "bad" information or advising the "wrong" action be taken.  I can understand why a leader of a nation would listen to their advisors...there is just not enough time in the day to do all the research for every issue the country faces.  It is so easy to blame just one person when the names of those who supplied the information that the action was based upon are never brought to light.  Granted, this is not the case every time...but one person cannot run a country alone.  If their "intelligence" is bad (meaning that which is supplied to him not their own {which may still be questionable}) then how can we expect the right choice to be made?  We do not know what information was supplied for particular decisions to be based upon.

I am not trying to defend any person or any decision...just take the time to think about what all is involved in the decision making process.  Many of you took years to find out that your mom, doctor, teachers, etc., had some wrong information about nutrition (and other things)...but this was probably based on the information that was given to them.

Katy B, that was funny!  The video was a brilliant spoof of the drug ads.
The people who wrote that are very clever.

A.M.E. - And where is the buck supposed to stop (in theory, at least)?

Even honest mistakes have consequences for which responsibility is regularly assessed in the workaday world.

But government - which rests on dishonesty - (current bunch exemplifies this about as starkly as is possible) - seems almost invariably exempt from responsibility....

If it were possible to grant honesty, decency, goodness to these people, then, if anything, they should be held to even higher standards than exist in the workaday world; but since to do so in reality would be perfectly analogous to insisting on higher standards for the Mafia,  to do so would be nonsense.

Stoic, would this apply to federal agents, too? It is with some amusement that I imagine the melee that would have occurred under this plan when 450 of them descended on our tiny burg last month and despite having specific search warrants, set up road blocks, ran everyone’s ID and subjectively confiscated possessions. Whee!

FDR was the New World Order's Man all the way. He illegally eradicated the gold standard and confiscated privately held gold. Why? To institute A PRIVATE BANK as the lender to the US--the FEDERAL RESERVE BANK, which is private.

i agree....we the people do not have access to  the daily presidential briefs on which to make decisions.. we do not have access to any classified info..  the ones we elect have this info and we expect them to act on it in our behalf...our elected leaders are not perfect in that they can make mistakes based on the info they receive and  trust... sometimes whoppers!   but i have to have the belief that those mistakes are made in the process of serving the people, be it security, economics, etc.  and hopefully not repeated.

i'm sure the founding fathers were not perfect either. but they did expect us to live free and to vote those out of office who would infringe on that right.   so use your power at the polls and vote your conscience.  thats one thing we can do...

i personally love my country and would not want to live anywhere else.

Even if it could be assumed that what we do not have access to is 100% conscientious & noble best effort (which we know, or should by now, is not the case...these people are professional liars, after all), your approach is known as 'appeal to authority' & is one of the logical fallacies. Logic, of course, is applicable  in the human sphere, much less so between sheep & shepherd, where defernce perturbs me not at all, lol....

"Perfection" is in no way the issue, either. Nor should your love of country be confused or bound up or conflated with some necessary love of government, which, as much as it loves & appreciates & promulgates this error, is a separate & distinct entity unto itself.

This site is amazing, such a credit to you and your commitment to the FREEDOM of health care information. Thanks Dr Mercola and I look forward to reading your book.
Freedom is about having information, education, understanding and the ability to access and utilize the information given. Thats right we are all responsible for our own health and my book The Wellness Zone here is Australia is also about that issue of health freedom and capapcity as individuals to make a difference in our lives and the lives and future of medicines. Lets unlock the corporate monopoly and claim back our rights as self healing  and free individuals with our medicines.
