Were Chinese Dumplings Deliberately Poisoned?

The Japanese media quoted a senior Chinese food safety official as saying that activists opposed to Chinese government ties with Japan may have contaminated the Chinese-made dumplings that caused 10 people in Japan to fall ill.

The discovery of pesticides on the dumplings has received widespread media coverage in Japan, and has prompted health queries from nearly 4,000 people.

"A small group who do not wish development of Sino-Japanese friendship may have taken extreme measures," Kyodo news agency quoted Wei Chuanzhong, vice minister of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. Japan's health minister has also raised the possibility that the food had been deliberately contaminated.

Article states:

"I call on the Japanese media to trust the governments of both countries and to aim for objective reporting," said Li Chunfeng, vice director of China's Import and Export Food Safety Bureau."

TRUST?  yeah right.  I am a few thousand miles away from Japan, but it doesn't past the smell test that Japanese activists would have to purposely poison dumplings.  The Chinese are known to do plenty of poisoning on their own without help from Japanese activists.

They should trust their government as we can trust ours to protect us?

The Chinese government just executed the last head of their version of the FDA, on bribery charges, as well as several lieutenants on the take, and we are then told believe this fabricated pack of overt lies?

The Chinese Communists are pure EVIL and must be replaced by democracy.

And why does our government send our "democratic" tax money to the Chinese government?

To the 'I'm Too Sexy' music: As Sung By The Central Beijing Politburo & Produced By Kim Il Jung, Jr. & Pol Pot Records, special credit to the International Olympic Committee, for legitimizing a failed despot regime and undeclared member contributor to The Axis Of Evil:

We're too evil for your trust, too evil for your trust
Trust never was with us

We're too evil for our shirt, too evil for our shirt
So evil it hurts
And we're too evil for the DC, too evil for the DC
the EU, and Tibet
And we're too evil for your party
Too evil for your party
No way we're leaving in peace

We're a model state, you know we are mean
And we do little reform, on the take
Yeah, on the take, on the take,
yeah
We do little reform, on the take

We're too evil for Haig bars, too evil for Haig
bars
Too evil by far
And we're too evil for Mao's hat
Too evil for Mao's hat, what do you
think about that?!

We're a model state, you know we are mean
And we are on the take...

We're too evil for you, too evil for you,
evil we are

'Cos we're a model state, you know we are
mean
And we trade in parts, body parts
Yeah, want a black market heart?

We're to evil for Mao's hat, think of that!
Poor peasants are our slaves
We're too evil for most
But we are Olympic Hosts!
We're too evil for your love, but how about
a heavy metal toxic hug?
Evil trumps trust, we'll squash you capitalist
pigs like bugs!

And we're too evil for this song!

miragemama,  China owns us.  Our government has gone out and destroyed the US economy with a never ending, and very expensive war, and guess who we're in debt to?

My biggest concern about the US being owned by China is environmental.  I've noticed that more and more wilderness land here is getting destroyed with drilling, mining, clear-cutting, industrial waste, etc.  How many of these projects have foreign investors?

EQ,
You are right! China does own us and I find that truth to be frightening.

The Celestial EVIL Empire Of Communist China Is A Paper Tiger, That Can Be Destroyed, But Shutting Off The Value Of Products, That Create Revenue For Their Slave Labor, & Massively Polluting Despot Economy With ZERO Value On Human Life.

Russ, you are so funny! I used to love that song.
I live in Japan and I can say for certain that neither the Japanese nor the Chinese have forgotten the past. The Japanese still exploit the Chinese by paying just over minimum Chinese wage for those working in Japan but waaaaay under that of Japan. Can you blame the Chinese for being bitter? And as the Japanese nationalist movement is becoming more mainstream I wouldn`t be surprised at this being another one of their moves to blacken the image of foreigners.
Who`s to blame? I don`t know but it`s ordinary people that suffer.

That's funny Russ.  So even thought I heard the news on "The Today Show" I did pull up this bleep on the web from Newstalk 1290.
Posted Feb. 11, 2208 Monrovia, Calif (AP)
"Trader Joe's will stop offering some Chinese made food productsin its stores because of customer concerns about safety.  The Monrovia based chain which has nearly 300 stores nation wide, announced today all single ingredient food items from mainland China will be off the shelves by April 1st.  That includes items such as garlic,  and frozen spinach.  Products that include ingredients from China and other sources won't be removed."

Well I for one think this is a great start and give kudos to TJ's.  I also called a store and they verified this information as well.

As one of my teachers said Trust, but Verify.  People can make mistakes, and they can lie, sometimes it depends upon your point of view.
