A recent insurance industry study has shown that teenagers are ignoring laws banning the use of cell phones while driving.
Auto accidents are the leading cause of death for teenagers. They are involved in three times as many fatal accidents as all other drivers.
Researchers found that 11 percent of teen drivers were using their cell phones on the road prior to a North Carolina ban. About five months following the ban, nearly 12 percent were observed using phones.
