Do the Risks of Aspirin Outweigh the Benefits?

According to a new report, the risks of taking aspirin daily may outweigh the benefits for individuals with no prior history of heart attack or stroke.

The authors of the study suggest there is insufficient evidence supporting the use of low dose aspirin to prevent cardiovascular disease in healthy people -- including  those with diabetes or high blood pressure.

Aspirin can increase the risk of hemorrhagic strokes, which are caused by bleeding in the brain. In addition, aspirin can cause gastrointestinal bleeding
