Eye Diseases Becoming More Common as We Age

A nine-year study of 10,000 elderly showed that nearly half of them developed at least one of three chronic eye diseases as they age:

  • Diabetic retinopathy
  • Glaucoma
  • Age-related macular degeneration (AMD)

Some warning signs of AMD:

  • Blurred vision (may be the first symptom)
  • Straight lines begin to appear crooked
  • Dark or empty spaces may block central vision

AMD is the most common cause of blindness in this country. Fortunately, there is an easy solution to prevent it as simple krill oil.. Lutein is also another beneficial nutrient to protect against AMD. Avoiding trans fats is also another useful strategy to prevent AMD.
