A century ago, most Americans lived to be about 50. Today people over 100 make up the fastest-growing segment of the population. The United States now boasts a population of more than 40,000 people aged 100 and older. If you want to be in this group it would be wise to restrict your grains and sugars, as it is quite clear that elevated insulin levels are one of the most significant physical influences that contribute to rapid aging.
