Despite Obesity Epidemic Not Many Seeking Help

Two-thirds of Americans are overweight yet only one-fourth are seriously trying to lose weight. What is wrong with this picture? Well, I perceive the primary reason for the disparity to be that most weight loss programs aren't really that good, and people aren't stupid. They won't waste their money on programs that don't get them results. Interestingly, mind-and-body workouts such as pilates and yoga have taken over the knee-pounding aerobics and cardiovascular activities whose popularity peaked in the early 1990s. The classes are filled with women over 55--the nation's single fastest-growing group of exercisers.
