Government Study on Vaccine Autism Link Seriously Flawed

Yesterday, government researchers announced that they found little evidence of a link between vaccinations and developmental problems in a study of more than 140,000 U.S. children. The full study will be published in the December journal of Pediatrics. Dr. Sherri Tenpenny's comment is below, but we will publish a comprehensive rebuttal to the CDC by Congressman Dave Weldon later this month in the newsletter. In the meantime here is a PDF of the letter that he wrote to the director of the CDC.

"Serious reservations surround the four-year evolution and conclusions of this study. Pediatrics failed to disclose that Dr. Verstraeten, the study's primary researcher, is employed by the vaccine manufacturer and incorrectly identifies him as an employee of the CDC. Information obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request (FOIA) revealed that a June 2000 version of the study applied various data manipulations to reduce the association between thimerosal and autism."
