Salmon Farms Declining

Tough competition from Chile and social pressures are really putting a squeeze on salmon farming in the Pacific Northwest. Fish farms have become the feedlots of the sea, virtually replicating in the ocean what we are doing to cattle on the land. Farmed fish are not the health food you are led to believe. For most of us it is far better to avoid mercury- and PCB-contaminated fish and replace it with cod liver oil. Seattle Times December 15, 2003
