Smoking Increases Breast Cancer Risk

Scientists have produced hard evidence that smoking increases the risk of breast cancer. The rate among women who were current smokers was around 30 percent higher than among those who had never smoked. If you're looking for some incentive to quit smoking, you'll be happy to hear that there was no evidence of a significantly increased breast cancer risk among those who had previously smoked but had quit. You may also want to consider giving up French fries, as I'm fond of telling patients that one French fry is worse for your health than one cigarette.
