FDA Rejects Silicone Breast Implants, for Now

More than a decade after most use of silicone gel implants was banned, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said it still has serious questions about how often the devices break apart in women's bodies and what damage the leaking silicone can do. They rejected Inamed's bid to bring silicone gel breast implants back to the market, but the company pledges to try again.
