One Percent of Cancers Caused by Medical X-rays

About one percent of all cancers in the United States are caused by X-rays. That is bad enough, but Japan has a rate 300 percent higher. The researchers estimate that X-ray-based medical imaging causes an extra 18,500 cases of cancer each year across the 15 countries studied. Three years ago I posted an excellent review in this area by Dr. Gofman. He is a nuclear physicist and a medical doctor and is one of the leading experts in the world in these issues.
