Low-Carb Pizza?

Pizza makers around the nation are wondering if the popularity of low-carb diets will force changes in one of America's best-known foods. Although industry sales haven't taken a hit yet, some pizza operators are considering offering customers low-carb pizzas. A Harris Interactive poll done last summer estimated that 32 million Americans were on some kind of high-protein, low-carb diet. It's certainly good news that more and more people are cutting grains out of their diets, and restaurants are reflecting this change. But I suspect most will acknowledge that pizza is still not a health food--even if it is low carb!
