Diabetes can cause chronic liver disease and cancer of the liver, according to researchers from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Among diabetic patients, the incidence of chronic liver disease and cancer of the liver was about twice the incidence of patients without diabetes. Considering that there are over 18 million people with diabetes in the United States, and the epidemic is continuing to increase, this is important information. Fortunately, diabetes, especially in children, is tremendously easy to treat by following a nutritious diet and increasing exercise.
