Flu Vaccine Increases Bell's Palsy

After the introduction of an inactivated nasal flu vaccine that was used in Switzerland during the 2000 to 2001 flu season, 46 cases of Bell's palsy, a neurological disorder characterized by facial paralysis, were reported. This prompted the study in which researchers found that this particular flu vaccine greatly increased the risk of Bell's palsy.
