The National Research Council's committee on the physics of the universe released a report that details 11 profound questions, some of which may be answered within a decade. If so, science is likely to make one of its greatest leaps in history. Resolution of these profound questions could unlock the secrets of existence and deliver a new age of science within several decades. Some of the questions include:
- What is dark matter?
- Where do ultrahigh-energy particles come from?
- What is gravity?
- Are there additional dimensions?
