U.S. Drug Researcher Imprisoned for FDA Fraud

An Alabama doctor who admitted making up research for a drug experiment was sentenced to more than four years in prison and ordered to pay fines and restitution of $1.5 million. The researcher was accused of submitting data to Aventis Pharma that falsely named several people who were supposed to have participated in her research on behalf of the company, but had not.
