Fertility Warnings for Men

Men considering vasectomy as a form of contraception are urged to "think very carefully" about the consequences if they ever wanted to reverse it. While vasectomies are sometimes considered "reversible," researchers found that men who had vasectomies had a three times lower sperm count than men who had not undergone the operation. And in a separate study, researchers found that men who smoke cannabis may also be damaging their fertility as the drug appears to impede the motility of sperm and damage its ability to penetrate women's eggs for fertilization. Back in 1999, it was also discovered that pesticides can damage male fertility.
