Turmeric Spice May Fight Cystic Fibrosis

A substance in turmeric, a common spice that helps turn curry and mustard yellow, might also help treat cystic fibrosis. Eating large doses of the substance, called curcumin, significantly cut deaths among mice with the genetic disease and shows a possible way to attack the disease's underlying cause. Interestingly, the same compound in turmeric was also found to be useful in fighting multiple sclerosis.
