Drinking Only Bottled Water Doubles Risk of Infection

In a study that looked at ways to predict infectious disease symptoms in inner city households it was found that drinking only bottled water was associated with a two-fold risk of infection. Investigators recommended further study to determine whether the water was contaminated or whether the cause was more than one family member drinking from the same bottle. The results of a body of studies by other investigators of bottled water--there are more than 600 brands--have been contradictory. Drinking clean water is an essential part of health, but there is fairly widespread debate over whether or not bottled water is really clean. All of those plastic bottles also place an excessive burden on the environment, so your best bet to finding an affordable and clean source of water is most likely to filter your own water at home.
