Half of Online Viagra Are Fakes

It's not surprising to me, with all the money the pharmaceutical companies spend and make on male sexual enhancement drugs, that a number of even less reputable companies are making boatloads of cash selling "fake" Viagra, according to a UK study. About half of the Viagra sold on the Internet has been found to be fakes.

The researcher who conducted the study used a technique called near infrared (NIR) microscopy which provided a detailed picture of each tablet. The fake tablets may contain lactose as an ingredient in the bulk tablet, and far less of the active ingredient sildenafil than authentic Viagra.

Although scientists don't know if the wrong components will be harmful, the user runs the risk of poor quality and possible toxicity, not to mention that the tablets have no clinical effect.

No matter whether the drug is a fake or not, taking a pill almost never solves a health problem, especially when it comes to erectile dysfunctional.
