Whole Grain Lucky Charms & Cocoa Puffs???

Today General Mills, the nation's No. 2 cereal maker, will announce plans to convert all its cereals - including Trix, Cocoa Puffs and Lucky Charms - into whole grain products. This is a major marketing ploy to deceived consumers into believing that they are eating health food.

What most consumers are still not aware of is that if they are overweight, have high blood pressure, high cholesterol or diabetes it would be wise to avoid all grains and sugars until those conditions normalize. Once they normalize then whole grains can be considered unless one has a sensitivity to gluten. However, at no time will General Mills' new whole grain cereals ever be considered healthy. They are loaded with sugar and chemicals that inevitably compromise your health.

I highlight this story not for the faithful readers of this newsletter who would never be fooled by such marketing deception, but to illustrate social trends that seek to deceive uneducated consumers for their own economic benefit.
