Protect Your Health From Pollution With Fish Oil

With all the wonderful things fish oil can do to help you be smarter, fight cancer and keep depression away, I wasn't at all surprised to learn it may also protect your heart from exposure to pollution.

Breathing toxic air pollution affects a patient's heart rate variability -- the beat-to-beat alterations in heart rate. A study conducted in one of the world's most polluted cities -- Mexico City -- found a daily dose of fish oil prevented a decline in heart rate variability among 26 elderly patients (ages 81-83).

Conversely, the health of a 24-member control group who received daily soy oil supplements was affected only marginally.

The trick about fish oil is choosing the best one for your health. And, to help you make the right decision, you'll want to review my FAQ page chock full of links to more articles about the benefits of fish oil and my recommendations.
