Astaxanthin―Better than Lowering Cholesterol, this Prevents It from Doing Damage

New research shows that the antioxidant astaxanthin can improve both the quality and quantity of lipoproteins/cholesterol in the blood. Because it can restore thioredoxin reductase and paraoxonase activities that reduce the damage that cholesterol does to the body and heart, scientists believe supplementation with astaxanthin could be helpful in treating cardiovascular diseases.
