A woman who posted a Facebook announcement that she was proud that her son may have possibly infected numerous people at a baseball game has garnered the attention of critics who say she was irresponsible. It’s not known whether her child had been vaccinated or not, but her post was enough to get the critics moaning over kindergarteners with religious exemptions to mandatory childhood vaccines. Taking Barbara Loe Fisher and Dr. Joseph Mercola to task for defending people’s rights to make vaccine choices, skeptics like Rathi Asaithambi, who wrote some commentary on vaccine exemptions in the Baltimore Sun, are accusing vaccine rights advocates of setting up a conflict that could have “catastrophic consequences.”
