Improper Diet Causes Poor Heart Health In Kids

Children who eat junk food are at risk of having poor heart health. Diet is one of seven factors that can be used to determine the cardiovascular health of a child. Some of the other lifestyle choices listed were obvious: tobacco use, obesity, and exercise. As reported on in the Indian Express, early health behaviors can have a tremendous influence on long-term health.

Obesity is an epidemic that is cutting the lives of our children short. In the US, eight obesity-related diseases account for 75 percent of all healthcare costs. Over 17 percent of American children between the ages of 2 and 19 fall into the obese category, which can set them up for a lifetime of very serious health problems.
