Pharma CEO Price Gouged the EpiPen While Salary Hiked to $18.9mil

If you didn't hear, there has been a controversy lately regarding the price of EpiPens. As Second Nexus reports, "In 2007, the cost of a two-pen set of the EpiPen, which contains about $1 worth of epinephrine, cost about $57. Then pharmaceutical company Mylan acquired it. The price has since increased by 400 percent, with the biggest changes in price coming in the past few years. In 2013, the price was $264.50. In May of 2015, it was $461. This May, the company again raised the cost to $608.61." What may be even more appalling is that the executives of Mylan saw large wage increases during this time, including the CEO whose pay rose to nearly $19 million!

BOYCOTT BIG PHARMA: Unfortunately this is just the latest in a long history of Big Pharma's corruption. Even your doctor may be taking money that can influence the prescriptions they write. Pharmaceutical companies spend billions of dollars to influence, “educate,” and entertain doctors around the world. Thankfully you can now find out if your doctor is being paid by Big Pharma online. If you're facing a health challenge, choose healthcare practitioners who really understand health at a foundational level, and have extensive experience helping others (and don't be afraid to ask for references and seek corroboration).
