A Simple Phone Game Could Diagnose Autism

Researchers have created a simple phone/tablet game that diagnoses Autism by measuring touch patterns. It was 93% accurate in a study carried out with 37 autistic children. The research was initially covered by Real Clear Science, and looks very promising for the diagnosis of autism.

COFFEE TIME: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) affects an estimated 1 in 50 American children. The number of children with autism has increased by an alarming rate over the last 20 years and will likely continue. A growing number of children also struggle with developmental and speech delays, as well as motor disorders. Previous research has shown that environmental toxins can influence ASD and other developmental delays, so make sure to keep environment in mind when treating any child with ASD or other developmental delays.
