Brain Cancer Now Leading Childhood Cancer Killer In US

Brain cancer is now the deadliest childhood cancer in the U.S., even ahead of leukemia, the Associated Press reports. The rankings were announced by government statisticians who looked at 15 years of death certificates.

Cancer is the fourth leading cause of death for children overall, with about a quarter of these deaths due to brain cancer, the statisticians reported.

While any death from cancer is sad, it’s always beyond tragic when this disease takes a child, and that’s why I make it a point to highlight issues that potentially could cause cancer in children. One of those issues that is a grave concern to me is cell phone use. Several studies now indicate that those who begin using cell phones heavily before age 20 have four to five times more brain cancer by their late 20s, compared to those whose exposure is minimal.

In fact, alarming research published eight years ago warned of this! This particular study, which I wrote about, raised fears that today's young people may suffer an epidemic of the disease in later life, and now it’s tragically come true.

While we don’t know if the rise in children’s brain cancer can be directly pinpointed to the use of cell phones, we do know enough to validate the importance of limiting cell phone use for both yourself and your children. Also, always use a well-shielded wired headset. Reduce or eliminate your use of other wireless devices, and don’t assume that one cell phone is safer than another — even the top phones can have EMF dangers.
