Fast-Food Chains Find Some Health Nuts Too Tough to Crack

The tide is turning in the battle against processed foods but a victory for healthy eating cannot come soon enough. The consequences of the standard western diet have been catastrophic and the human cost immense. According to a Bloomberg report, the purveyors of junk food such as McDonald’s have also determined that they are on the wrong side of history and need to revamp their strategy. It is for this reason that they are purging their menus of preservatives and artificial flavors, and are offering healthier menu options.

A menu that includes superfoods alongside supersize foods is a stunning volte-face for fast food giants, but it is not enough to win back the public. They have found a public that is not so easily fooled. Those interested in healthy eating remain unimpressed by lip service to antibiotic-free meat items and cage-free chickens.

This is largely due to the fact that most items on their menu remain exceedingly unhealthy. Certainly, the use of better and more sustainably sourced ingredients is admirable, but these changes are not nearly enough to make fast food a viable dietary option.

The obesity epidemic has been a scourge for generations. The best dietary advice is to avoid any and all processed foods. This may seem inconvenient to those pressed for time, but the health benefits are immense. The convenience and price of processed food is entirely illusory. You can either pay the farmer now or pay the doctor later.

Preparing all of your own meals may appear to be a daunting challenge. For this reason I have crafted a nutrition plan that provides actionable information and an easily implemented step-by-step guide to healthy eating.
