Diet soda sales are in a death spiral and the manufacturers of these poisons are scrambling for alternatives. The current game plan of these purveyors of junk food is to diversify and trick consumers into buying new offerings that are disguised as healthy options. USA Today reported on the most recent example of soda manufacturer chicanery. This was Dr. Pepper buying up Bai Brands, a maker of beverages that are marketed as health oriented.

It seems unlikely that this new foray into the “low-calorie” drink market will be any more successful than their previous efforts. The market is saturated with infused beverages that provide a lengthy list of artificial ingredients and much shorter list of vague health benefits. The easiest way to boost your health is to avoid beverages laden with chemicals and artificial flavors.

Do not expect the soda industry to go down without a fight. Expect even more deceptive marketing, slick sloganeering and repackaged “healthy” options in a market already inundated with dubious beverages. The sophistication of their tactics cannot be allowed to mask the fundamental dangers posed by an expansive line of products bereft of any real value.

The best replacement for a sweetened beverage is energized water. It can recharge your mitochondria and deep springs are one excellent source. You can also promote structured water through vortexing or cooling it to 39 degrees Fahrenheit. Reverting tap water back into a vitality boosting element can provide enormous health benefits.

There is no reason to ever drink soda pop or any other unhealthy beverage. This may seem to be a daunting challenge but my nutrition plan is designed to ease this transition.
