Alan Thicke Dies From Heart Attack, Learn to Protect Your Heart Today

Alan Thicke was a tour de force of American television. He left an indelible mark on the 1980s sit-com landscape and is best known for his role as the sage father Jason Seaver on Growing Pains. He was also an accomplished song writer and composed the numerous catchy theme songs for hit TV shows including Wheel of Fortune, Diff’rent Strokes and The Facts of Life.

The death of this TV icon resonates because of his age; he was only 69, and his zeal for physical fitness. According to NPR, he died from a heart attack while playing hockey with his youngest son. Alan Thicke is survived by his three sons: one with his second wife, Carter, 19, and two with his first wife, Brennan, 41, Robin, 39.
