Scientists Turn Seawater Into Drinking Water With Graphene Based Sieve

Anyone who takes clean drinking water for granted needs to get their facts straight. Flint, Michigan, is situated on a massive body of fresh water and suffered a clean water catastrophe due to government bumbling and infrastructure crumbling. Just as troubling is the fact that many locations intentionally add toxins such as fluoride into their water.

Of course there are many regions of the planet that do not have the luxury of contaminating their water. Science Alert reports that a water filtration breakthrough has been made that could potentially alleviate water shortages on a global level. Let’s hope that this marks the dawn of an era where mindful stewardship of our water supply is the norm.

The breakthrough is a sieve device that turns seawater into drinking water. Salt water is abundant, but has been difficult to harness due to the cost of current desalinization processes. Scientists hope this new graphene-based membrane is a water filtration game changer.

Any advance in water filtration is big news. Quite simply, filtering your household water is no longer optional, as water pollution is a significant problem. Your drinking water may be contaminated with gender-bending pharmaceutical drugs, agricultural runoff, industrial waste and heavy metals released by deteriorating infrastructure. There is also the issue of the toxic chemicals used during water treatment.

The obvious solution is to filter all the water that comes into the house, and then filtering it again at the kitchen sink and shower.  An even more healthful solution is to consume living water.  Energized water can recharge your mitochondria, and deep springs are one excellent source. You can also promote structured water through vortexing or cooling it to 39 degrees Fahrenheit. Reverting tap water back into a vitality boosting element can provide enormous health benefits.
