If you’re “in” to exercise and weight training, you’re most likely familiar with the admonishment that your muscles need a break to react optimally to the training. For those who want to add resistance training to their program, high-intensity circuit training (HICT) may be something to try. HICT involves using multiple large muscles with very little rest between sets, yielding aerobic and metabolic benefits, the latter of which may continue for up to 72 hours after the workout has been completed. It may even lead to greater fat loss in the long run.
