New York Using Only 13% of Predicted Needed Hospital Beds

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo had predicted New York would need 140,000 hospital beds and 40,000 intensive care units with ventilators for the anticipated pandemic “surge.” But, instead, only 18,500 were in use at week’s end — about 13% of the predicted need.
