Across the U.S., businesses and government entities are lining up for coronavirus antibody tests that will assure them it’s safe for them to work. There’s just one problem: Many of the tests are of “frankly dubious quality,” flagging some as having antibodies when they don’t.
In other cases the tests are being used to diagnose disease — which is something they’re not designed to do. On top of that, many of the companies making these tests are based in China and haven’t received government vetting.
