Scientists Dosing Men With Female Sex Hormones in COVID-19 Clinical Trials

Statistics so far show that COVID-19 tends to affect men worse than women, and scientists are conducting two studies to see if administering female sex hormones to males can help fight the virus. One trial is open to women age 55 and older, who have low levels of estrogen in their bodies, as well as men. Those subjects will be given an estrogen patch for one week. The other trial is open to hospitalized male patients only, who will be given two shots of progesterone a day for five days...
