Researchers who studied 9/11 to find effective ways to cope during the current COVID-19 crisis are endorsing coping techniques to promote resilience to and recovery from stress, including acceptance-based coping, mindfulness and meditation.
Control, coherence and connectedness are the three C’s of coping, which include daily planning and activities, connecting with loved ones through calls, texts or video conferences and observing your fears, anxieties and emotional responses without judgment — a practice commonly known as mindfulness.
