Nursing Homes Step Up Staff Screening for Residents’ Safety

coronavirus

Nursing homes in New York and Florida are implementing various new methods of infection control, including increased testing of their staffs, to protect their residents from SARS-CoV-2.

Patients who test positive will submit to new protocols to keep other residents and staff from contracting disease from them. Deep infection of the facilities is also on the list of control measures. The new infection protocols come in the wake of thousands of COVID-19 deaths across the country in nursing homes. New York alone has had over 5,000 people in nursing homes die from it.
