Chicago is getting ready to preregister residents for a COVID-19 vaccine. With the help of a website and a mobile app, the Chicago Department of Public Health hopes to rocket ahead to mass-vaccinate people as soon as the FDA approves a vaccine.

Until that happens, the new features will also help the health department communicate with Chicagoans who have either tested positive for the coronavirus or may be experiencing symptoms.
