The personal doctor for Italy’s former President Silvio Berlusconi announced Sunday that a study shows the coronavirus has lost its potency to the point that “in reality, from the clinical point of view, the virus no longer exists.”
Italy’s top health official Franco Locatelli, along with the World Health Organization, gave a quick rebuttal. “We need to be exceptionally careful not to create a sense that, all of a sudden, the virus, by its own volition, has now decided to be less pathogenic,” Michael Ryan, executive director of WHO’s health emergencies program, said in a press briefing.
