A Norwegian scientist who studied the coronavirus’ spike protein says SARS-CoV-2 “is not natural in origin” because the proteins appear to have artificially inserted sequences. To add credence to the lab-creation possibility, the virus also has properties that “have never been detected in nature,” and that had been “doctored to bind to humans,” he said.
The scientist’s opinion was corroborated by a British scientist who added that Chinese and U.S. researchers have collaborated on gain-of-function studies to create a virile novel coronavirus that may have escaped from the Chinese lab accidentally.
