Sharply conflicting information on the origins of SARS-CoV-2 has headlined the news in the past few months, but a new study points toward it being a lab-created virus that somehow escaped.
“The same study seems to rule out the possibility that infected animals at the Huanan Seafood Market in Wuhan transmitted the virus to several human beings,” blogger Matt Ridley wrote in The Wall Street Journal. Still other research suggests that, rather than emerging in late December-early January, the virus was circulating as early as November and possibly even before that.
