Twitter Deletes 170,000 Accounts Tied to Chinese Government

More than 170,000 Chinese Twitter accounts pushing what Twitter called “deceptive narratives” on a variety of topics, including COVID-19, have been shut down.

“Twitter's takedown is the latest development in Silicon Valley's attempt to thwart governments using social media platforms to push narratives in their favor,” CNN said. Twitter is officially blocked in China.
