Emerging evidence shows that COVID-19 may not be as severe as health officials initially thought it would be, yet, whenever good news like this appears, it seems like news agencies take offense and rush to contradict it.
Rather than promoting the “good news” side of the latest findings, they consistently use headlines that downplay or deny the findings, even if they come from the CDC or WHO. Then they go on to include statements from professors and doctors who either claim health officials are too optimistic or that they don’t believe the news is good at all.
“The latest pushback on positive information related to lower mortality associated with COVID-19 infections has come in response to comments made by epidemiologist Maria Van Kerkhove, MD of the WHO on June 8,” according to The Vaccine Reaction.
