CDC, Florida Report Vastly Different Coronavirus Testing Numbers

coronavirus

An analysis conducted on coronavirus testing results in May in Florida show a sharp discrepancy between the numbers reported by the state and those recorded by the CDC. For example, by mid-May the state said they’d tested 700,000 people, but the CDC said it was 900,000.

While Florida was one of 10 states where discrepancies were reported, its numbers had the highest disagreement. In a twist, however, it was only the testing numbers that disagreed: The state and CDC’s numbers coincided on both the number of cases and deaths.
