Amid mounting calls to drop the 2-meter (6.5 feet) social distancing rule, two University of Oxford experts say there is little evidence to support social distancing while others say the infection rate across the U.K. is still too high to relax the rule.
With infection rates declining, Prime Minister Boris Johnson ordered a comprehensive review of the measure; however, results are not due until at least July 4 — the date when pubs, restaurants and salons are expected to open, which gives businesses no time to prepare for changes.
